poor welcomeuncomfortable mattress
the welcome at reception wasn't great, the person there didn't seem very interested. she just asked for my name without any greeting. the bed was also quite uncomfortable. it had a cheap mattress that really impacted my sleep and i really didn't get the rest i needed.

i found the staff to be friendly and helpful. my room included tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits. the cooked breakfast was prepared to order and was very tasty. i enjoyed the convenient location near buses and the west somerset railway.
The door to my room was quite heavy. it would swing shut quickly if i wasn't careful. I feel like this could be a potential health and safety issue.

location was good, but sleep quality suffered

street noisethin duvet
The location was convenient, yet the street noise at night was a problem. i found it hard to rest properly due to cars and loud people. the single-pane windows did little to block noise. also, a fire door banged shut every two hours just outside my room. It disrupted sleep quite a lot.

Fantastic stay, great service!

great beachdecent breakfasthelpful staff
I really enjoyed the location, it was right next to the sea. The beach was very nice. The breakfast had a decent quality. The service was great and the staff was nice and helpful to us. The staff were always quick to assist with any questions or requests I had. They helped.
The bathroom light was activated by pulling a cord hard, it felt somewhat outdated!
Dining
9/10
The breakfast offered a satisfying range of options including a full English breakfast. I observed fresh pastries were available each morning alongside fruit juices. The dining area was clean and well maintained.
Facilities
8/10
The premises were well-kept. I noticed the hotel supports YMCA, providing apprenticeships for young people. This support extended to local groups, contributing to the community. The hotel benefits the local economy.
Location
10/10
The hotel is located adjacent to the West Somerset railway station! This offers immediate access to steam railway services. I could easily explore the surrounding area. The seafront location provides convenient beach access.
