Cheeca Lodge & Spa - A luxury oceanfront resort on 11 hectares with a private beach, 160.0 m fishing pier, three restaurants, and a 9-hole golf course
Cheeca Lodge & Spa, a luxury resort in Islamorada, Florida, occupies 11 hectares of landscaped oceanfront property with 0.3 m of private waterfront. The 160.0 m fishing pier is the longest in the Florida Keys, and a 9-hole par-3 golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus is on-site. Guestrooms at Cheeca Lodge & Spa feature dark hardwood furniture, a balcony with resort views, a 42-inch flat-screen TV, free WiFi, an in-room safe, and a coffee maker. Three restaurants and a tiki bar provide dining options: Atlantic's Edge serves tropically-inspired cuisine, Nikai Sushi Bar & Restaurant offers nigiri and sashimi, and a beachside café is available for lunch. An adult-only heated lap pool with butler service and a separate family pool are open to guests. The full-service spa includes a steam room, hot tub, and treatment rooms offering massages, body wraps, and facials. Six tennis courts, a fitness center with yoga classes, and water sports facilities (kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling) are available on the property. The resort provides a complimentary shuttle service to destinations within a 3 km radius, and Long Key State Park is 22 km away. A business centre with meeting facilities and family amenities such as kids' meals, indoor play area, and board games are also offered.
Pros
Free parking and complimentary resort activities including kayaking, paddleboarding, bicycle rentals, and fishing on the pier.
Adult-only heated lap pool with butler service for a tranquil experience.
On-site sushi bar and tropically-inspired restaurant with fresh seafood specialties.
Complimentary shuttle service within 3 km to local attractions and dining.
9-hole par-3 golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus included in the resort fee.
Cons
Some rooms, particularly in the lagoon-view category, have dated furniture and maintenance issues such as poor water pressure or noisy air conditioning.
The beach area is smaller than expected and may have seaweed accumulation, which can produce a musty odor depending on the season.
