Despite some renovations still underway, the Victoria Hotel had several redeeming qualities, including its cleanliness and a friendly staff. My room was quite comfortable and centrally located, making it easy to explore Galway. However, the experience was marred by a lack of charm in the service and some basic amenities missing, which made it feel underwhelming for the price I paid.
Rooms
8.0
The room I stayed in was clean and comfortably furnished. It seemed to have been recently renovated, which was a pleasant surprise. However, I did find that it lacked some modern amenities you would expect for the price.
Service
6.0
While the staff was generally helpful, I didn't feel much warmth or engagement from them during my visit. It felt like they were just going through the motions, especially at breakfast.
Location
10.0
The hotel's central location was ideal for exploring the local area, with many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. It couldn't have been more convenient for my trip.
Dining
7.0
The breakfast offerings were decent, but they could definitely improve on the presentation and freshness of the food. Some items seemed unappealing when I arrived.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel was undergoing renovations, which affected some of the facilities. While the lobby could use some upgrades, I appreciated the cleanliness throughout.
