Guests frequently praise the spacious and clean rooms at The Caledonian Torbay Hotel, with some rooms, such as number 216, offering a 'wow factor' due to their size, modern decor, and features like a two-seater sofa and separate dressing room. Its location is often described as brilliant, being right on the seafront and close to the town and the theatre. While generally appreciated, some guests have noted that the lift can be slow and have long queues at busy times. Mixed Feelings About This Stay

central locationsmall roomwater leak
The location is central and close to the seafront. (That's pretty convenient.)
The room I was assigned felt really small like a prison cell and had only a tiny window offering no view at all, only a roof. There were clear signs of a water leak across the ceilings and down the wall and the bathroom was tiny (I had to sit sideways on the toilet). I will not come back.

Wonderful Assistance Received

early arrivalkind staffhelpful luggage
I arrived early and wanted to use the restroom after parking. The staff greeted me with kindness. They provided tea and coffee. My room was ready at 12 PM instead of 3 PM. Alan helped bring my luggage from the car and later to the car upon departure, it was very helpful.
The seagulls landed on the window sill, so I had to close it.
Location
9/10
The location is very central. I crossed the road and I was already on the seafront. The discount on parking is useful. Town center shops are about a five minute walk from the building.
